Eric Nelson is a seasoned real estate professional with nearly four decades of experience in New York City’s housing market, now recognized for his growing leadership in affordable and supportive housing development.
He began his career in 1986 as a mortgage broker, gaining extensive experience in residential real estate financing while working with a wide range of institutional and private lenders. This foundation gave him a unique perspective on the intersection of finance, housing policy, and urban development.
In 1996, Eric founded Vintage Group, LLC, transitioning into property ownership and management with a focus on rent-regulated, mixed-use buildings across Manhattan. His long-term, community-focused approach helped stabilize neighborhoods while preserving valuable housing stock.
In 2000, Eric strategically expanded into affordable and supportive housing, acquiring HUD Section 8 properties and partnering with developers and nonprofit organizations to preserve and expand access to deeply affordable units. His work has evolved to include Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) development, underscoring his commitment to delivering sustainable, equity-driven housing solutions.
In 2025, Eric further strengthened this mission by acquiring Liberty Maintenance, LLC, a facilities services company supporting nonprofit housing operators. Through this venture, he continues to ensure quality housing environments for New York’s most vulnerable populations.
